HPE Trueview Inventory 8.3 software

The Hewlett Packard Enterprise approach to Resource Inventory

Eliminate complex modeling
HPE Trueview implements, out-of-the-box, the most common network technology models and algorithms as defined by the international standards (ITU-T, ETSI, and IETF) and used by Network Equipment Providers (NEPs) to ensure interoperability. This approach allows to dramatically reduce the time to implement solutions while keeping the ability to adapt the model to your specific needs, using user-defined attributes.
Network is the truth
While legacy inventory systems are repositories to store the representation of the network data obtained from various sources, at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, we consider that the network is the only trusted source of information, providing most of the information required to build a resource inventory.
From the network elements (NEs), we can collect not only the physical information about the device, but also its configuration information, which specifies the relationship between various NEs. Analyzing these "active data", HPE Trueview is able to reverse engineer the services running on the network, implementing "service stitching". This mainly consists of a set of algorithms that collate the information from the disparate network elements to show the end-to-end service.
