HPE Pointnext puts DS Virgin Racing on winning track

How are hyperconverged solutions and proactive IT operational services helping to transform motor sports? Just ask British motor racing team, DS Virgin Racing, one of ten teams competing in the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Formula E Championship - the world's first racing series comprised solely of all-electric, single-seater race cars.
In the Formula E Championship, drivers race through city streets at breakneck speeds. But instead of the thundering roar of souped-up combustion engines, it's whisper quiet. This unique Championship is a showcase for innovation in electric vehicle design and efficiency. And working with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), DS Virgin Racing is right at the point of the spear in that effort.
DS Virgin Racing has relied on HPE technologies and services since its second season in the Championship. Most recently, the team updated its HPE infrastructure, using the expert advisory services of HPE Pointnext to plan, test, and deploy the HPE SimpliVity 380 hyperconverged platform running a VMware virtualized environment, along with Aruba wireless networking. HPE Pointnext also provides ongoing proactive IT services through HPE Proactive Care.
