NNIT accelerates time-to-value with SAP HANA-as-a-Service

Case Study

Founded in 1994 as Novo Nordisk IT, NNIT A/S wanted to leverage their leadership position as a certified SAP service provider to create a new, value-added SAP HANA cloud service to help accelerate customer time-to-value by streaming the proof of concept and migration process.

Creating new opportunities based on customer demand

"As a high-performance, in-memory database, SAP HANA offers significant benefits for our customers," states John Sander Petersen, Manager SAP Basis Projects at NNIT A/S. "This is especially true for the pharmaceutical industry where, historically, we are very strong. And since SAP HANA will be the only database supported for SAP deployments in the future, we wanted to find a way to simplify and streamline the migration process from SAP BW to SAP HANA. We also saw this as an opportunity to provide SAP HANA infrastructure as a cloud service, while at the same time expanding our SAP service portfolio."
Founded in 1994 as Novo Nordisk IT with headquarters in Soborg, Denmark, NNIT A/S is one of Denmark's three largest providers of IT services. With a global customer base, NNIT employs over 2,800 IT experts focused on IT consultancy, development, implementation, and operations services for life sciences, finance, public sector, and other industry segments. NNIT is widely recognized in the market for their capabilities and expertise in delivering business-critical SAP solutions out of three data centers in Aarhus, Silkeborg, and Soeborg, Denmark.
"NNIT offers support for the full SAP stack with over 250 SAP-certified SAP Basis consultants, a significant competitive differentiator compared to many global service providers," explains Petersen. "While they only provide Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) with each customer responsible for their own SAP environment, we offer IaaS plus SAP Basis hosting and SAP Basis operations. That increases value for our target market who don't want to deal with the intricacies of SAP Basis support. Currently, we host over 550 SAP systems-supporting more than 100,000 users-for 15 large Danish accounts, each having a global footprint."
