HPE OEM program helps SixSq bring smart IoT solutions to cities and science

By leveraging the HPE OEM program, IoT software innovator SixSq delivers smart city and smart science solutions built on the HPE Edgeline portfolio, enabling customers to use real-time data for automating things like street light intensity at the edge and transforming aggregate IoT data into actionable insights in the cloud.

Imagine a city where the street lamps automatically adjust their intensity based on the amount of traffic detected. It would surely reduce power consumption and save a substantial amount of money. Here's the thing: you don't have to imagine. SixSq, in partnership with HPE, has made this smart city solution a reality today.
SixSq develops software that enables its customers to deploy smart applications virtually anywhere - whether a microsystem embedded in a light post or a cloud running Big Data analytics. However, to deliver a complete solution, SixSq also needed the right hardware to align with its software approach, along with a partner that could extend the reach of this small, Geneva-based company to the rest of the world. The HPE OEM program ideally met SixSq's needs on both counts with long-life HPE Edgeline Systems, including five-year extended warranties, as well as global go-to-market support.
Marc-Elian Bgin, SixSq's CEO and co-founder, remarks, "The HPE OEM program enabled us to certify our software on the entire Edgeline portfolio in a smooth process, so we can supply the full range of our customers' deployment needs with a single partner. Being able to leverage the massive exposure of HPE is a big part of bringing our solutions to market, from both a technology standpoint as well as marketing and warranty service."
