MDVIP turns to HPE and CenturyLink for security services to protect patient data

MDVIP, a membership-based primary care network, uses CenturyLink cloud services to help accomplish its mission - make healthier lives happen.

MDVIP is a membership-based healthcare organization, based in Boca Raton, Florida, that connects approximately 300,000 U.S. healthcare consumers with a national network of more than 950 primary care physicians. MDVIP-affiliated physicians limit the size of their practices, which affords them the time to provide MDVIP customers with highly individualized service and attention. Technology-enabled communication is essential to MDVIP's business model; the company provides web portals for both physicians and patients. To support patient growth, comply with industry security regulations, and provide physicians and patients with highly available access to information resources, MDVIP needed a scalable and secure IT environment. However, it did not wish to take on the infrastructure and staffing overhead of building and maintaining this environment. MDVIP turned to HPE partner, CenturyLink, for a DCC solution built on HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 servers and HPE 3PAR StoreServ storage.

A different kind of primary care

MDVIP is a national network of primary care doctors who see fewer patients, so they can focus on delivering personalized and preventive care. They offer a better healthcare experience with conveniences and benefits not found in most primary care practices today.
A typical primary care doctor sees between 18 and 40 patients a day. Patients wait an average of 19 days to get an appointment that lasts on average less than 15 minutes. Because most primary care doctors are overburdened with paperwork and patient volumes, visits are usually about acute health concerns. Physicians have little time for preventive care.
