Product brief

Hewlett Packard Enterprise and CenturyLink

MDVIP is a national network of primary care doctors who see fewer patients, so they can focus on delivering personalized and preventive care. They offer a better healthcare experience with conveniences and benefits not found in most primary care practices today. For the infrastructure services and robust security behind its patient and physician web portals, MDVIP relies on CenturyLink Dedicated Cloud Compute (DCC) powered by HPE ProLiant DL360 servers and HPE 3PAR StoreServ storage.

MDVIP is a membership-based healthcare organization, based in Boca Raton, Florida, that connects approximately 300,000 U.S. healthcare consumers with a national network of more than 950 primary care physicians. MDVIP-affiliated physicians limit the size of their practices, which affords them the time to provide MDVIP customers with highly individualized service and attention.

Business goals

Technology-enabled communication is essential to MDVIP's business model. The company provides web portals for both physicians and patients. To support business growth, comply with security regulations, and provide physicians and patients with highly available access to information resources, MDVIP needed a scalable and secure IT environment. However, it did not wish to take on the infrastructure and staffing overhead of building and maintaining this environment.
