Product brief

Hewlett Packard Enterprise and CenturyLink

The technology solutions leader Ingram Micro, Inc. has run a successful cloud business since 2009. However, rising customer interest in private cloud services left the company with a gap in its solutions portfolio. Ingram Micro worked with HPE partner, CenturyLink, to provide CenturyLink Private Cloud, a single-tenant hosted cloud solution built on VMware Cloud Foundation and HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 servers. Now, Ingram Micro and its managed services provider (MSP) customers are positioned for robust profitability in the dynamic world of hybrid clouds.
Ingram Micro, Inc. is a technology solutions company based in Irvine, California, that helps businesses maximize the value of the technology they make, sell, or use. Operating in 52 countries across six continents, Ingram Micro delivers a full spectrum of global technology and supply chain solutions that enable managed services providers to operate efficiently and successfully.

Business goals

Running a successful cloud business unit since 2009, Ingram Micro saw its infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) business with public cloud providers grow 122% in 2018. However, the company sees the flexibility of hybrid clouds as the wave of the future. In recent years, it has noted a shift in end-user consumption preferences toward private clouds, for reasons of security, performance, and IT control. What's more, the MSPs it serves were asking Ingram Micro to offer a private cloud solution. To continue to grow as a business, Ingram Micro aimed to add a managed private cloud solution to its growing Hybrid Solutions portfolio.
